I am the Digital Media Fellow at The Poynter Institute, specializing in writing about and training journalists in mobile news platforms, social media and digital journalism. I also teach a digital journalism course at Georgetown University. Previously I worked as a newspaper reporter and editor; helped found local online news site TBD.com in Washington, D.C., as the senior community host; and then was the managing editor of TBD.com and WJLA.com.
Outside of work, I am a proud husband, dog owner, University of Missouri Journalism graduate, runner, basketball player, baseball fan, Android user, fan of history, mystery and conspiracy, drinker of dark beer, red wine and whiskey, and of course a blogger.
